RECOMMENDATIONS

As you can imagine, we love Sorrento & the Amalfi Coast..

To ensure our guests have the best holiday, here are a few tips and highlights:

Flight Schedule
As the majority of our guests will be flying from Bristol, currently easyJet are flying to and from Naples every Saturday evening, Tuesday and Thursday morning.

Tui also have flights every Monday and Friday afternoon.

Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi coast is easily accessible from Sorrento, as ferries run frequently from the bay. A ferry can take approx 1hour, and stops in many destinations along the way. Including Capri, Positano & Amalfi Town. We particularly enjoyed visiting Amalfi Town and trying the lemon pesto pasta on the steps by Duomo di Amalfi.Amalfi Town is really beautiful and a lot quieter than other parts on the coast.

Positano is also another one of our favourites, especially as this is where Carmelo proposed! The only warning we'd give here is to be prepared to walk up a lot of steps - if you want to enjoy the views and the iconic narrow streets!

Marina Grande
If you walk along the lane that skirts Hotel Bellevue Syrene, you will come to stairs which lead to Marina Grande. Marina Grande is a small fishing port, walking distance from Sorrento. Here you will find colourful boats, houses and lots of amazing restaurants! The 2 restaurants which we love are Bagni Delfino and Zi'Ntonio Mare.
We had amazing meals in both, and we especially enjoyed the views.

Sorrento
Sorrento has a few small beach areas (which get very busy). So we wouldn't say its a typical beach resort, especially as it's located on a clifftop. Some hotels have private beaches/jetty, so if you're a beach bum, be sure to bear that in mind when planning.

There are so many amazing restaurants in Sorrento- Inn Bufalito Taverna, O'Murzill, Il Delfino to name a few. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the narrow streets, trying the homemade limoncello along the way. There are also a lot of boutique shops to explore, along with more high end shops on the main strip.

Capri
The beautiful Island of Capri! Famous for its designer shops and spectacular views. We recommend a boat trip around the island and to get a cable cart to the top- where you will find lots of shops, restaurants and bars. We visited the Capri Rooftop restaurant. They had amazing music (sometimes live), the best views and tasty food. The ferry runs from the port of Sorrento frequently, and it only takes about 20 minutes!

Other Highlights
Pompeii is around 40 mins transfer & has been highly recommended if you're interested in history.

A lot of people like to take advantage of the location and fly to Rome and travel their way down to Sorrento after visiting the capitol. I believe you can get a train direct to Naples, which then allows you to travel easily to Sorrento.

Whether you want to stay in Sorrento for the full week, or do a little exploring- we're sure you will love it as much as we do. If you'd like any other recommendations, please reach out to either Megan or Carmelo and we can help as much as we can!
